At Stewart Weir we believe that we are not just a business
We are a group of people seeking to make a difference in the world around us.
One of the major components of the OSW Corporate Social Responsibility program is Charity of Choice, in which employees nominate charitable causes they support and a “winning” charity is selected by the Executive Team.
The OSW Charity of Choice for 2013-2015 is the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta, highlighting our commitment to nurturing inclusive communities. In 2013 alone, more than $35,000 has been donated to the CPA through corporate gifts and fundraising efforts.
We also support the critical role our employees have in volunteering in their communities. This is done by giving employees paid time off so they can volunteer with charitable organizations or worthwhile causes.
In 2012, OSW employees volunteered over 460 hours to worthy causes. This number has been surpassed in 2013 as employees have given more than 780 hours, including assistance in High River and Calgary in the aftermath of the June 2013 flooding.
