Opus was engaged by a private developer to design a high quality 17 units, 6 level apartment building in Parnell, Auckland. In order to maximize the apartments value and to minimize ongoing maintenance costs, the apartments will be of high quality design and utilizing quality durable low maintenance materials.
The complex contains eleven 2 bed apartments and six 3 bed apartments. The design makes very efficient use of a small site (~400sqm) with complex covenants, neighboring buildings at the boundary and restricted construction space.
Opus successfully negotiated with Auckland Council to encroach a road widening reserve and exceed height controls to maximize the development potential, as well influencing Auckland Transport in its recommendation to remove the road widening designation from the Unitary Plan.
