We were appointed architects & lead consultants for the modernisation of this underground station
Substantial improvements included replacing all wall, floor and ceiling finishes as well as new mechanical, electrical and communications facilities.
The project covered new customer help points, signage, train information screens, cable management systems and CCTV installation.
The scope of work extended from the external entrances down to the ticket hall, lower concourse areas and platforms. The station has five staircase street entrances and was designed by the prolific English architect Charles Holden.
Its classification as a section 12 (subsurface station) added to the complexity of the modernisation work.
